I just started a Z-pak for unilateral ENT issues (doesn't look/feel like strep, but we can't rule it out without a more expensive test than I want to pay for - the unilateral nature plus other symptoms were sufficient to strongly suspect bacterial rather than viral infection) and thus won't be non-contagious by tonight. So no Rockin' Thursday this week, but next week we should be on as per usual - hopefully by then I will have even ported the Rock Band 2 stuff to Rock Band 3 :).

I just had strep a couple of weeks ago. Fever and raging sore throat for two days with no congestion or cough, but my rapid strep test was negative. Urgent care still diagnosed me with strep because I had white crap on my tonsils, swollen glands, and no congestion. Within a few hours of my first dose of amoxicillin, I was feeling better. Hope the same goes for you!

Thank you! All I've noticed thus far is my stomach is not a fan of azithromycin (note to self: eat with the rest of the doses), but I've been pounding green+mint tea with honey starting before I saw the doctor, so that might be masking signs of improvement :).

I'm glad your experience went well, and I wonder if you had another bug, like staph, causing those strep-throat-like symptoms but turning up negative on a quick test and responding well to antibiotics (although false negative is also possible, natch).

Funny story. I was on my way out the door when I decided to around and check LJ *just in case*.

And I was ready to spend the night making panda jokes at you.
