Well, that's an odd problem
My parents (being more observant than I) have noticed that they failed to give me a birthday present this year. So they've got a budget of approximately $100 with which to get me something(s) while I'm down here. I have very little idea what to ask for - go on a book buying spree? Hunt down something electronic? Ask for it as cash?
Got any advice on what I should ask for? Alternatively, what would you do in my position?

gift certificate you can spend when something jumps out at you is a great option in my world. If I get cash and don't buy myself a gift right away, it just gets spent over time as pocket cash which kind of defeats the gift aspect of it.

Hmmm...personally, I would go on shopping sprees at goodwills and used bookstores, seeing as how at both types of places, $100 would bring home a massive haul of stuff that was useful, provided I got used-shopping-lucky.

The $100 is just money.

An iTunes (or such) gift card might be nice too, if you are in to such things.
