The other day one of our rotation students (not an undergrad) asked, "Wait, what was Challenger?"

That feels less upsetting to me just because I was a sufficiently young kid when Challlenger happened that my main memories around it are thinking "wait, it wasn't supposed to look like that?" (having not seen a launch before) and selling pencils.
