Paypal should DIAF

Dear Paypal,
When your security measures prevent me from dealing with the fact that my Paypal account got hacked by asking me to do things I can not do because my account got hacked, you fucking lose. Forever.

I can't even close my account because in order to do so I need to provide the full credit card number (and let me tell you how reassuring *that* is) for the credit card I canceled because my account got hacked. Is there any alternative to Paypal?

I've never seen anything with the width of adoption that PayPal has.

A couple years ago, at Arisia, one of the dealers thought [livejournal.com profile] ultimatepsi was committing fraud, because her PayPal payment was cancelled. Turns out, PayPal found the purchase wildly out of character and automatically deemed it fraud, and cancelled it for her protection.

Oops.

Paypal has gotten way overzealous in its pre-fraud procedures, while being slow as hell and nigh useless to actually resolve real fraud (such as what happened to me). I think it might be skewed against sellers as well, which is why the dealer got so upset.
