"It's not a near-miss, it's a near-hit"

So, that whole "look where you're turning" thing kept me from plowing headfirst into a fuckwit this morning. I'm guessing he completely failed to parse the double yellow line when he went around a car turning right in order to turn left. This was at the place where I turn left onto Lincoln St (right near the intersection of Bacon, Lexinton, and Totten Pond, heading toward Piety Corner). He figured it out when he found himself looking up Sweet Grrl's nose and managed to get back behind the guy turning right, but I did have to hit the brakes pretty hard - he decided to do this after I'd started the turn and was gaining speed to avoid getting my ass whacked by people on Lexington. That's the closest I've come to a fuckwit-precipitated accident (that I know of) since getting Sweet Grrl. Now, with a bike I could have gotten around him, but that would presume that he'd've seen me in a bike the way he saw Sweet Grrl, which I wouldn't assume, so my reaction probably would have been about the same (making sure to straighten up before hitting the breaks).
