So, my options for a large carrier for my tri-band GSM phone are T-Mobil and Cingular. So let's do a quick comparison:

Cingular

T-Mobil

  • Gave the right answer to the selling-records question (see link above)
  • Coverage kinda sucky at my house but pretty decent at the other places I end up most often
  • Cheapest plan is $30 for 300 minutes + unlimited roaming/LD/nights-weekends, which is still more minutes than I'll use

Looks like T-Mobil FTW. Now to call them and see if I can get the ball rolling on getting my number transferred to them without having to pay for service I won't be using.
