Ow

I have gotten a migraine, and for some reason I couldn't sleep through it, which sucked like ZOMG. It's chilled out a bit (I tried this thing I heard once a long time ago, take a cold shower, then a hot shower, then a cold shower and stay in until you shiver, and it actually seemed to help), but it still hurts like hell.

So I'm not going much of anywhere tonight, for which I apologize. I have to feed my friend's cats (since they're on vacation and I said I would) and I also have to do an hour or two worth of work because it needs doing but other than that I'm not doing a goddamn thing. I think I'm going to go back to praying for unconsciousness.

I have awful migraines, and have similar difficulty sleeping sometimes. Benadryl works for me, and my neurologist said that it may also reduce some of the swelling that causes the pain in the first place.

Also, ice packs applied directly to where my head hurts helps a great deal.

Normally I'd take Imitrex, which makes it less bad, but I couldn't find any - time to get more from my doctor, me thinks. I can't take Benadryl because I have an allergic reaction (I think I was sensitized to it because my mom would use it as a sleep-aid for me when I was a kid and too ill to sleep). But next time I'll absolutely have to try the ice packs - it makes sense, the problem is swollen blood vessels.
