I feel horrible, but I'm still happy. My nose is all sniffly, my ear has water in it again, and my throat is sore, but I can feel the love of the universe surrounding me. This means that I have a silly grin on my face despite leaking like a faucet.

Friday night was Sangre de Sol (Vampire LARP set in Mexico City), I managed to leave the vast majority of my costuming stuff in Boston but I still had tons of fun. As usual my anxiety was all for not, all the people at the LARP were nice (a cute person even braided my hair for me *bounce*), I had a better grasp of the mechanics than most of the players (and now that I've seen it in action I want to revise my character so she functions more like I envisioned), and I got to listen to people talk a lot. I think next time I'm going to spend more time seeing what the mucky-mucks are up to, although Majesty freaks are extremely annoying (I can be as much of a dick as I want and you still have to respect me, because I am Important) and it's a lot more fun hanging out in the slums.

Saturday was also good, spent most of the day sleeping, then I went to the Sunset Grill and Tap with Greased Lightning, Songbird (his wife), and Gander (SB's secondary). Between the two bottle of mead and a bottle of the most alcoholic beer in the world (more alocholic than the mead) we were all a bit buzzed by the time the meal was over. It's good to get tipsy with friends, although I prefer it in small groups and won't do it at parties if there's even a single person I'm not friends with (in terms of knowing them well enough moreso than people who don't like me and vice versa). We went over to Harrel's to get ice cream and hang out long enough for the driver (Gander) to be sufficiently sober to drive us home in the snow. GL and I went from his place to mine, were we spent a couple of hours, um, stuff, and then we fell asleep, since he had to get up early the next day to finish his Reiki training.

Sunday was nice and quiet and peaceful, primarily hanging out at Bill's place watching TV and just enjoying the company of friends. We watched Dogma (Bill got the special edition with *tons* of secenes that were not in the movie, the Fat Albert one is fantastic) and then I went to bed. Didn't sleep so well, tho, not sure why. My last dream of the night was me being a part of GI Joe and killing the Baroness with a sword (for some reason all the "heroes" in this particular battle were using melee weapons rather than guns).

Last night was highly nifty, I got to hang out with Truthspeaker who gave me lots of bread :). We complained about how boys don't have nasty side effects from having too much sex like we do (in terms of bodies getting sick, not STDs but things like UTIs and yeast infections) and we talked about our lives and it was a lot of fun. I love sitting around and gossiping about personal stuff, and she's really good for whacking me upside the head as needed (most people treat me as too fragile or something for suchness).

Now I need to get back to work. Cutting sections of parafin, whee! Even that can't bring me down *grin*

Ugh. I had to go home early from work because I'm not healthy. I really hope it's not so bad that I can't go tomorrow, I have things that need doing (even if they frustrate me at times). Yes, I like my job enough that I want to go and do it. And why not, I'm not only doing humanity a good turn by researching a disease that takes many lives but I get those moments of "is it gonna work? yes! it worked!", which is good. I also get times when it doesn't work, in which case I go into troubleshooting mode (which IT people are way too familiar with) which can be a different sort of rush.

So, in other news, I need to figure out what I want for Xmas and tell my folks. I remember going through the sears catalogue and writing a huge list of everything I wanted, including page number and price. Unfortunately such a thing no longer exists, so I don't have a quick and easy way to look at things I might want in order to decide what I do want. All I know is I want more RAM and a leather catsuit and, well, no asking my floks for the catsuit. Any got suggestions for accessories or clothing or suchness that would go with the catsuit that I could ask for, or even where one could purchase such an outfit (and how do they make them fit right? I imagine they have to be taylor-made, as it were)?
