Breach of etiquette
Jun. 30th, 2009 01:41 amSomeone was heading in a disturbing direction with their comments in a previous post and when I pointed that out to them (in my graceful-as-an-arthritic-elephant fashion) they proceeded to delete every single comment they'd made in that post. I consider that to be a breach of livejournal etiquette (if you messed up you leave it there as a lesson to yourself and others, and if you didn't mess up you leave it there so the non-jerks can realize that; either way you leave it there because removing half of the conversation makes it incomprehensible). If I had realized that there were people who read my LJ and do not consider such an act to be bad manners I would have spelled this out long ago, but better late than never: please do not delete your comments in my LJ. If that means you don't want to comment in my journal ever again, that's perfectly fine - you are my guest and I'd really rather you didn't feel the need to do anything you might not be comfortable with, even if that means I'll miss your (online) company in the future.
