Work, etc.

Work is pretty cool. I've gotten the impression that the primary difference between industry and academia is industry is a hell of a lot more anal. This is actually not a bad thing, as I'm (oddly enough) really good at being anal. I'm still working on the "corporate scientist attire"; thus far I'm going with a plain shirt, my black BDUs tied at the ankles, and my black docs, with my hair tied back so it doesn't get in my way while I work. This fits the "closed-toe shoes and long pants in the lab" requirement while being fairly dapper. I should get more plain shirts. I'll also be getting perscription safety glasses, so I don't always have to wear my contacts to work. I can't wait until they teach me to use retrovirii (I'm now trained for BL2+, yay :).

I've been productive as of late. Part of being On, I guess. The extremely general things on my to-do list include: get myself moved into my new place (yay!), get my car inspected registered etc. up here (it's got MD tags that are good for a couple of years, so this is a relatively low priority at the moment), get tested (it's that time of year again ;), and figure out how to get my degree with both majors. As I do all of this I will be saving towards a bike. Wow, I'm being all responsible and stuff. Weird ;)
