Good News, Bad News
Jul. 14th, 2003 05:58 pmThe Good News: I have successfully moved into my new place, which is highly spiff. My new room is significantly larger than my old room and the house is large enough that I will float the idea of a housewarming party to my new housemates (who are also quite spiff).
The Bad News: My computer went POP as soon as I turned it on and a strange burning smell eminated from it. Fortunately it was only the power supply, but money's sufficiently tight right now that I'll have to wait until the end of the week to get a new one. Meaning I will have equally sporadic internet access as I did the last two weeks. However, I now have a phone (whose number I will give out as appropriate once I figure out what it is) so I can call people to do scheduling schtuff (which I find oddly enjoyable).
I also had my first lab meeting today. My conclusion: it's like a school assembly, at least given my current standing in the group - I had something to contribute for about 5 minutes of the meeting, which lasted 2.5 hours. Least I'm getting paid for it.
The weekend was a fuckton of fun. I'll probably post about it later, but no promises.
