My latest pair of Harley boots have finally bitten the dust - the left boot is actually coming apart at the seam just above the strap in the back (it's a modified engineer boot). But I got paid today so I'm looking for a new pair. I found some nice engineer boots, but these buckle boots are also kinda appealing. These officer boots win in the comfort and waterproof department, but aren't a style I like. Maybe I'll go into the Big Blue Room this weekend to find a pair. . .

*laughs* My biggest problem with boot shopping is finding boots that I like that are in my size because the former are almost always men's boots. I just don't grok myself as feminine (I grok that I'm female, but that's not the same thing). That said, I wish I liked the style of the officer's boots more, but I'm more into the pure-leather-minimal-geegaws look of engineer-style or tanker-style boots (I seriously wish they made tanker boots in my size ;P). I just have to decide how I'm going to work the comfort-to-style ratio. . .

Fair enough. I think that my above comment came mostly from the fact that engineer boots seem particularly unappealing to me--they seem like modern evolutions of the classic cowboy boot, and I am provably, genetically not-a-cowboy.
